2. No one knew how Ken had managed to persuade the boss to give him a bigger office, but they all agreed he must have had a very good sales pitch.

Compare to: (give someone a) snow job; (give someone a) song and dance. The expression is usually used to describe a sales situation (opt.1), but it can also be used metaphorically (opt.2).
